Imagine this… a
Christian serving in a foreign land has just received word that her
father back home has died. She will no longer speak to him again on
this side of heaven. But even worse, she will not be able to attend
the funeral with the rest of her family… Why? The cost is too great.
Would you help this person buy an airplane ticket home?
When I was on
active duty at my first duty station, there was a guy on my ship
whose mother just died. The crew chipped in to help buy this service
member a ticket home to be at his mother’s funeral. Without his
shipmates, he would have never been able to go. Would you help a
military member get home to his mother’s funeral?
If you answered
“yes” to either of those questions and if you currently have extra
funds… One of our own family members needs our help. This is not a
stranger or a military member, this is a family in our church. The
cost to fly two people to Nigeria is roughly $4,400.00. Each ticket
costs over $2,000.00… That is a steep price for even a wealthy
person.
